Department for Infrastructure and Transport
The 10.5km section of road between the Torrens and Darlington is the final piece of South Australia’s world-class multi-billion-dollar North-South Corridor (NSC) Program and the key to unlocking Adelaide’s traffic network. This section of the Torrens to Darlington Project is the most complex section of the NSC Program due to ground conditions, unique heritage assets and the social character of the surrounding areas. Around 60% of the Project will be underground tunnels and will result in a free-flowing motorway with 80 km/h posted speed and three lanes in each direction, similar to the existing NSC Program. Once completed, the Project will be the state’s biggest infrastructure project to date and will deliver a 78km non-stop traffic-light-free connection between Gawler and Old Noarlunga. The NSC Program Delivery Office has been established to deliver the Project. This Constructability Advisory Services contract is Project-wide and intended to provide expert support to the NSC PDO during the transaction phase through to award of the two main construction packages.
