The St Marys Freight Hub is a state significant 10 hectare container terminal west of Sydney developed by Pacific National to service major retail distribution centres and warehouses across Greater Western Sydney. An estimated 300,000 shipping containers will be transported by rail between Port Botany and St Marys each year. The development including
Marshfield (formerly Rowlands Build) was employed by McMahon Services to engage stakeholders including various State Departments, local councils, Transport for New South Wales, EPA, the local community and PN. Obtaining major approvals on behalf of PN to meet DA approvals. Managing design to meet DA, stakeholder and budgetary requirements. Finalise project planning, negotiate the construction contract and agree with the client the functional requirements for the project.
Marshfield was able to quickly mobilise trained and competent rail personnel to manage these works for Pacific National. Marshfield successfully managed the works to deliver critical repairs in high traffic areas of the terminal, without major disruption to the terminal operations.
Marshfield was able to provide a diverse of services providing a ‘one stop shop’ to the client for approvals, design management and precontracts management, enabling the preconstruction works to be completed efficiently and within the client’s compressed timeframe.
